The finger-like projection in the extreme south of the region i.e., “Mizoram” a land of hills which are always covered by blue fogs and the reason why Mizoram is called the Land of Blue Mountains bounded by Manipur, Assam and Tripura while a part of it touches Myanmar and Bangladesh also. It has the second highest literacy rate in the country India, majority of the people are Christians. Mizos have a great affinity towards their land in which they live. They are known to be one of the finest choir singers in the northeast and by nature they are sociable, hospitable and fun loving people.
There are many tourist destinations like Champai, Tamdil, Vantawang fall and Thenzawl with its number of festivals and dances, natural beauty and ancient traditions. Mizoram is a pleasure trove for the discerning visitors.
